Presented by the MOTION PICTURE PRODUCTION INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION in association with BRITISH COLUMBIA FILM and THE WHISTLER FILM FESTIVAL SOCIETY; The MPPIA Short Film Award provides one filmmaker, each year, an opportunity to further develop his or her directing career by realizing a unique creative vision.
THE AWARD
The selected applicant will receive a $10,000 cash award from MPPIA and a $5,000 cash award from British Columbia Film.
The “in-kind” donation of services by MPPIA members will have a value of up to $100,000. Possible support available will include pre-production (office space, accounting, mentorship, script editing), production (lights, cameras, offices, materials, film/video stock, stage space, photocopying, publicity), and post production (editing, transfers, dubbing, VFX).
