The Motion Picture Production Industry Association of BC (MPPIA) congratulates Premier Christy Clark and the BC Liberal party on securing a fourth term in office on May 14.  MPPIA looks forward to working closely with government and Creative BC to develop and execute a strong public-private strategy for British Columbia’s vibrant creative economy.

“British Columbia is rich with resources in the creative industries; with the right vision, strategy and investment from government and the private sector, we are positioned to be leaders in the entertainment production market and in the global creative economy,” said MPPIA Chair Peter Leitch.

“Congratulations to Premier Clark and her team on their successful campaign and strong economic message, as well as to all elected MLAs. Together we can ensure that BC’s creative industries play an important role in British Columbia’s economic future,” Leitch added.

The BC motion picture production sector stands among the best in the world and  generates in excess of $1 billion in revenue annually as part the province’s estimated $4 billion dollar creative economy.
