Vancouver, BC – British Columbia’s film and television production community will bring their message of appreciation to the Chinatown Festival on August 10 to demonstrate the neighbourhood, business and industry collaboration behind BC’s thriving motion picture production sector.

Just ahead of the festival’s evening screening of Kung Fu Panda, a red-carpet crew will be on hand for paparazzi photos, interviews and swag giveaways – in a special thank you to Chinatown for their role on and behind the screen of many BC shot film and TV productions.

Red carpet activities:                       5:30 pm

Screening Kung Fu Panda:             7:30 pm

The vital cooperation between industry and local communities and BIA’s as well as municipal film offices contributes to BC’s position as one of North America’s top production hubs. Among the productions that have recently shot in Vancouver’s Chinatown include:The Magicians (Season 5); Limetown; The In Between; Alive; Chad; Upload; Coffee and Kareem; and Woke.

This BC film + tv industry community appreciation event is presented by the Motion Picture Community Initiative (MPCI) Industry Stewardship Project. The Motion Picture Community Initiative is a British Columbia industry task force established by the Motion Picture Production Industry Assn. of BC (MPPIA) to recognize, appreciate, profile and celebrate the BC community stakeholders that help make the Province’s film and television production sector thrive.
