The countdown is on ‘ the Whistler Film Festival 2011 opens Nov. 30 with another exciting event where the art and business of film come together against Whistler’s spectacular mountain backdrop. The Whistler Film Festival moves into its second decade launching a newly minted partnership with Variety, a renewed sense of purpose to showcase the best in Canadian and International cinema, and a commitment to facilitate global partnerships
in filmmaking.

Now in its fifth year in the WFF line up, MPPIA is proud to present the MPPIA Short Film Award with partners BC Film & Media and the Whistler Film Festival. The pitch to attain the much sought after short filmmaking award valued at up to $100k in production resources takes place on Saturday, Dec. 3, 10 am at the Whistler Conference Centre.

The 2010 MPPIA Short Film Award winner, director Jeremy Lutter will show the results of his winning pitch last year ‘ Joanna Makes A Friend screens Saturday, Dec. 3, 1:15 pm at Millennium Place.
